One-Year Problem Solving Challenge

In 2024, I solved algorithmic problems every single day for 366 days. Along the way, I solved more than 1,100 problems and reached Diamond III on solved.ac, moving from basic exercises to more advanced algorithmic topics.

Ruby-tier problems were a different kind of challenge. I solved one of them fully on my own and solved two others by reading papers or studying existing approaches. The experience was exciting, but it also reminded me how much time high-tier problems can demand.

The most meaningful part was consistency. During midterms and finals, I sometimes kept the streak alive with easier problems, but finishing the full year still felt deeply rewarding.

Contests
ICPC 2024 Seoul Preliminary Contest
2024.10.25
201st
This was my first programming contest and my first team contest. Sharing one computer with three teammates was less comfortable than I expected, and English problem statements took more time than usual. Still, it helped me meet other students at UNIST who enjoy problem solving, and that became one of the best parts of the experience.

UDPC 2025 Senior Division
2025.03.29
11th
I was a bit rusty, so missing the prize cutoff by one problem was disappointing. Even so, watching the scoreboard move and receiving a special award made the contest memorable.
What I Want to Study More
For coding interviews, I think repeatedly solving solid Gold-level problems may matter more than chasing only harder advanced topics. I also want to practice more on LeetCode and other English problem platforms, since contest and interview settings often depend on reading English statements quickly.
